Baby Dedication for Rebekah

We celebrated Rebekah's Baby Dedication today at our church, Edenvale Baptist. Pastor Marlene did the dedication. Rebekah was such a little princess and made the congregation laugh a few times with her squeals and funny faces. She was also trying to take her new sandals off the whole time. (She had discovered earlier that they semed to taste good.) The Bible verse they chose for her was Proverbs 4:23 - "Above all else, guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life." We praise God for our precious little girl and are honored to raise her in the ways of the Lord!

Rebekah is changing so fast!

We love watching our little Rebekah grow! She is rolling all over, sitting up by herself, saying "ba ba" and "da da", and she is on her knees ready to crawl. So far she's mostly rocking back and forth on her knees and when she does this fast enough she actually makes a little bouncy hop forward. So cute-what can we say! She is also very attached to her mommy and wants to be able to see her at all times.

Fun Times!

We love that spring is now here! The nicer weather means we get to play outside lots! Click on the picture of Joshua on the seesaw to see more of our fun day at the park!
A Day in the Park
We just recently visited the Sci-Bono Science Discovery Center in downtown Joburg. Some friends invited us to go with them and we were so amazed at how much fun the kids had learning about science. There's no way we could go through the center in one trip so we are all looking forward to going again. Click on the picture below to see what fun the kids had discovering science!

Lucas lost his first tooth!

First Lost Tooth!
Lucas lost his FIRST tooth last Friday! He only discovered it was loose on Tuesday last week and immediately switched to soft foods like yogurt. He just couldn't bite anything. (smile) He was a bit hesitant to put his tooth under his pillow for the Tooth Fairy because he wanted to keep his first tooth. Good thing the Tooth Fairy wrote a nice note telling him he could keep his tooth to remember his special day! Lucas was also pleased to receive 10 rand under his pillow - a little over one dollar. Then I couldn't help but add the next picture because we just couldn't believe Lucas would think this was a comfortable way to sleep!
What a way to sleep!
I thought I would also add a few more pictures of Alexis and her music class. The other boys in her class are Eli & Kaleb and her teacher is Marianne.

Playing together

Playing Together
I love that Lucas and Alexis still enjoy playing with our Little People toys! It was so great to see all our kids playing together like this!! (You'll have to click on this pic to be able to see all the kids.)
Scooting backwards
Rebekah is really starting to roll and scoot around. She has recently been scooting backwards and getting stuck under things...like this couch.
So silly!
Joshua absolutely loves to be photographed and he loves to to be silly at the same time. His silly moments make me smile all day!

Lucas' School Program

Lucas' school program
The primary grades at Lucas' school put on a program last Friday. All the children were to invite their grandparents. Since ours are in the U.S. we invited another couple from the finance office whose grandkids live in the U.S. I love how you can grow to have a new "family" when you live overseas! Anyway, each grade performed a song as an African animal. Lucas' class sang about ostriches. Lucas had a little extra part in the song so he got to wear a blue boa and thought that was just great. The whole program was so fun and well put-together. I also got a picture of Lucas and his teacher, Mrs. van der Schyff. Click on the picture above to see a few more snapshots of his school program.
