Lucas' Sports News

In our meeting last week, many of those attending ran or walked a 5k race.  Well, Lucas woke up that morning and told us he wanted to win that race.  So he did!  He ran faster than all the other kids AND adults!  He ran 5k in 23 min. 41 seconds!  We couldn't believe it!  So fun to watch him run!


Lucas played in his soccer season opener this last Saturday morning.  The other team scored first and then Lucas said he turned to a teammate and said, "it's payback time."  He scored the next 5 goals and his team won 5-2!  He was very excited to be chosen "Man of the Match" and he gets to keep the trophy until the next game.

First Day of School!

Lucas is now in Grade 3 and Alexis is in Grade 1 at The King's School!  God answered all our prayers for them for school!  They have great teachers and friends in their classes!  Click on the link below to see more pics of their first day!

Christmas Party Fever!

Christmas in style!




We have had almost a Christmas party a day for the last week!  That's how they do it in South Africa!  Then everyone leaves town to go on vacation to the coast.  It's pretty quiet in our neighborhood now.


I am enjoying having all the kids home right now!

Christmas Fun

Our family helped share Christmas in a nursing home recently.  Allison played piano and Alexis held the music while Lucas & Joshua helped lead the singing of Christmas carols. The kids helped some of the folks do a Christmas craft and then we walked around handing out gift bags and meat pies (a very South African food).  We were even able to visit many of the people in the frail care section.  We were so proud of our kids-giving hugs to strangers and helping others to smile!

Lucas wanted a new hairdo so I made a deal with him.  He could have a mohawk after the last day of school until Christmas!

Alexis' Birthday Party!

Joshua chose a Cars birthday theme for his 4th birthday!






Joshua invited a few friends over for a Cars party.  We did the freeze dance to Cars music.  Then we decorated boxes to look like Lightning McQueen.  It was a treasure hunt to find each piece of the car to add to their boxes.  We had to plan a few extra inside games because we didn't plan on all the rain but it was a great party with fun treats to eat!
